However, point #2 to me nails down a big benefit of having more money. It is true that random unexpected expenses never stop and they really seem like rabbit holes into which your salary happily disappears.
Having enough money also means being able to afford the little indulgences on a whim without needing to plan or crave for them – like a massage or an impromptu holiday. And am sure instant gratification for such things does not make the joy any lesser :)

When my mom has a large unexpected car repair bill it will throw everything off and she sometimes has to borrow money from me. When I have a large car repair bill I may bitch and moan because it sucks but I am able to cash flow it. Such a difference in our lives and I can’t imagine going back to living paycheck to paycheck.
