Thought of the same idea for my kids. Great way to incentivize them to save (ie free rent). Another twist on the same theme could be applied to student loans. For every dollar they contribute to 401K, etc., I will pay down their student loan by the same amount.

It’s hard for me to track all pennies too, but I def. need to start doing it again. I’m much better in phases (Expenses getting too high? Time to track again! All good now? Let’s take a break… for years :))
