FREEDOM. Freedom to work or not and where I want. To also stay at the job if I want which is vastly different than having to stay until I find another job. It’s the freedom to say “yeah, I want to do that” without having to run numbers. It’s the freedom of removing so many things from life that create stress. It is the freedom to walk away from a brewing bad situation. Freedom is a beautiful thing.

Time to spend with family and friends (whenever it works for them), time to volunteer for causes I care about, and time to explore the things I am curious about. No skipping because I have to work, no constraints because I have to get home early enough to sleep before I have to work, no hurrying through because I only have so much vacation allowed. For me, FI most certainly means time.
