My kids are grown, and they are great young adults, self sufficient and fully employed, but not because they had talented parents. They just had a lot of our time, they felt safe and loved, received tons of praise and had reasonable limits they could not violate without significant consequences.

I teared up too, but because I reflected back on those years, and felt good about them. This video is a message to young parents, you only get to do this once. Nothing else in your life is this important, spend time with your kids!

(Though I do think it's a fun experience for kids having Stanta et al around.. gives them magical stuff to get excited about. Mainly up to us parents to control the situation around all that gift giving, ugh)

Interesting video. It makes me wonder why we keep Santa (or the Three Kings) around. Santa has seemingly unlimited resources and can bring anything you want! It is an unreasonable expectation for parents to live up to. I wonder how different Christmas would be if Santa, elves, and the Three Kings were left out of it
